Group Rules

Sat Jan 1, 2011, 12:36 PM by *Creative--Dragon:iconcreative--dragon:
Hello all,
Group leader ChildOfAtlas and the staff of EES welcome you to the group and would like to present some rules to get you started here.

:bulletblue: Our standards for acceptance are high and declines are frequent.  We hope you understand this because in order to achieve full potential for a group showcasing the best of Deviantart's photography this needs to happen.

:bulletblue: Submission limits are set so that members get 1 submission per day.  Exceptional Photographers get to submit 3 images per day and Excellent Admins get to submit 5 images per day.  We need to keep single artist floods down so what we show is always a variety.  So give us only your best each day!

:bulletblue: Submissions to the featured gallery folder are not allowed.  To get into the featured folder ChildOfAtlas or one of the staff members must move your artwork into it.  Photographs will only be placed in this folder at administrator discretion.

:bulletblue: If you wish to submit a deviation to group fave's (general, not the gallery) this will be the easiest way to have your deviation accepted. (permitting it is a photograph of acceptable quality)

:bulletblue: Finally, the rule about unsightly/deviantart watermarks will be strictly enforced.  So if you want your deviation to be accepted into the group you must NOT have a large (or deviantart) watermark on it.  Small watermarks and signatures are OK but if your watermark detracts from the overall image than it will NOT be accepted.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Submission Rules

:bulletred: Image must be of excellent quality (no graininess, snapshots, cellphone shots etc.)

:bulletred: Image must match the gallery for which it is being submitted

:bulletred: Submissions to the folder "0 Automatic Decline - Check Submission Folder" will be automatically decline and you will be left a comment asking you to resubmit to the correct folder before your artwork will be considered for our group.

:bulletred: No detracting/excessively distracting logos or watermarks. And definitely no DA watermarks.

:bulletred: ONLY deviations submitted to DA in the "photography" category will be accepted (no stock, manipulations, ect.)

:bulletred: No "over-processed" images such as images with extreme halation will be accepted.  Images with chromatic aberration, excessively photoshoped/edited, or heavy use of filters are also not acceptable.

:bulletred: HDR Images will be accepted as long as they fall in line with the previous rule (no over saturation, halos, etc) they must look somewhat natural.

:bulletred: No composite photographs or photo manipulations will be accepted!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additional Information

:bulletgreen: If you have any questions, please feel free to note the group or *ElaineSeleneStock. We promise to get back to you in a timely manner.

If we decline your image, please don't take offense. The image just might not be what we're looking for, for the group. Plus if you request a decline reason we will always try to get back to you.

:bulletgreen: If anyone has any suggestions for galleries, contest, etc... Note the group and we'll take it into consideration.

Thanks for your understanding,
ChildOfAtlas and Staff of EES

I thought someone should point out that your rules forbid "chromatic abrasion", when what you probably meant was chromatic aberration. Also, CA is not the result of over-processing. It's inherent in the design of the lens used. In fact, it often requires a lot of processing to remove it, when it occurs, so its presence is more likely an indication of under-processing, if anything.

Thank you for pointing this out. :)I was simply listing it as a fault that is not acceptable. I didn't really mean it to be included in the category of over processing.
